The purpose of food education is to cultivate healthy lifestyles in children. Huizhou food culture embodies healthful dietary concepts such as “eating in season”, “light and original flavors”, and “balanced meat-and-vegetable combinations”, making it a valuable educational resource for kindergarten food education curricula. By constructing a three-part curriculum system comprising dietary cognition, dietary practice, and dietary culture, and by implementing it through a collaborative home-kindergarten-community pathway involving thematic kindergarten courses, family experience activities, and community practice activities, kindergartens can achieve the dual goals of “health-oriented education” and “cultural inheritance”.
