ABSTRACT
The development of network technology has had many influences on the use of Chinese swear words. By collecting swear words on the Internet, this article takes “cao (操)”, “bi (逼)”, and “tamade (他妈的)” which appear and are used the most frequently as examples to analyze their original meaning and use in Internet variant. It could be concluded that the development of network technology has produced a large number of variants in the use of Chinese swear words, and their generative model could be established from the perspective of formal, phonological, and semantic.
