ABSTRACT
This study investigates the
relationship between levels of positive psychological capital (PsyCap) and burnout
among Thai flight attendants who are currently working for Thai Airways
International. The sample included 305 flight attendants. The results indicate that the
perceptions of their burnout level is low (mean = 2.10), and degree of their PsyCap is moderate (mean = 3.73); the aggregate of PsyCapand the burnout levels are found
to be significantly negative (r = -0.42). All four
components of PsyCap are negatively related to the level of burnout. The paper
discusses the future research agenda. The implications of these findings and
benefits of developing PsyCap for organisations are also discussed in the light
of these findings.
